Are you ready for UIL?

I hope everyone is enjoying the 2012 so far. For many students, UIL competition is right around the corner. Do you have everything you need? Is your instrument in good working condition?

Make sure you have original copies of your music for the judges. Have your instructor look at your instrument to make sure everything is working, or bring it in to see if general maintenance is needed. For string instruments, check to see if your strings are wearing out and need replacing (general rule of thumb, strings should be replaced at least once a year.) Also, look to see if bow hair needs to be replaced.

Also, make sure you are taking private lessons. If you are not currently taking lessons, call Landes and we will help you locate a teacher to assist you.

2011 Landes Christmas Recital

We had a fantastic time at our first Christmas Recital. First, I want to say thanks to Faith United Methodist Church for allowing us to use their sanctuary to have the recital in. I also want to say thanks to all our wonderful students. Without all of our wonderful little musical geniuses, this recital would not be possible. We also need to thank all you parents out there. Thank you so much for all the support you give your kids. I know all your children really appreciate how much you are there for them.
